Tragedy struck yesterday in the early AM when the HMS Bounty floundered and was lost in Hurricane Sandy. As of this morning the Captain, Robin Walbridge, is still missing with one other crew member dead. All of the remaining 14 crew members were rescued from two life rafts by Coast Guard helicopter. It is a sad day indeed for the two crew and their families, our hopes continue that the missing Captain will soon be found.

In July 2010 the HMS Bounty arrived in Duluth, MN along with a number of other tall ships for the Tall Ship Festival Duluth. We were fortunate enough to be able to attend that celebration and see the HMS Bounty up close. She was a beautiful ship and was the main attraction of the event. This morning I’ve put together a few photos of the majestic ship from that event in tribute to the HMS Bounty and her crew.
